About Me

I have great pleasure in introducing myself, Jaya Gurung, a freelance trekking guide in Nepal. I became involved in trekking in 1998, when I was a porter for two years. I then completed a guides trekking course through the Minister of Tourism in 2000 and followed this up with high altitude mountain sickness training.

Since completing my trekking course I have gained a vast amount of experience with trekking companies. I am fluent in English and I also speak a little French. This experience has allowed me to become familiar with various different Nepalese trekking environments, particularly, Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Helambu, Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Upper Mustang, Upper and Lower Dolpo. I can also lead treks to remote and less-touristy areas. I have also gained experience in the trekking peaks of Mera, Island, Lobuche, Pisang, Tent and many more.

I can arrange and modify your trek itinerary with your interests in mind, at competitive prices, whether it is easy, moderate or difficult, leading you over high mountain passes and for the adventurous, I can lead you on an exhilarating peak expedition. I will be more than happy to guide you on the most beautiful trails in the Himalayas, ensuring you have an excellent holiday, leaving an ever lasting memory to cherish.

You will have plenty of opportunity to explore the beautiful, interesting and exciting places that Nepal has to offer, learning of its deep rooted history, rich diverse cultures, flora and fauna and policies.
