This trek is identified as being short and easy with fine panoramic views. The trek commences from Nayapul Birethanti, walking beside an attractive river. On the second day we arrive at Ghorepani (2750m), located in the heart of the region. Poon Hill at the height of 3210m has a great view point of the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri ranges, along with many more, such as the awe inspiring holy mountain of Machapucchhre. There are more than 20 mountain peaks between 6000 and 8167m situated in front of this hill. It is a relatively short and easy climb and will give you an opportunity to view the wonderful mountains above 8000m, including Dhaulagiri (8167m),Manaslu (8163m) and Annapurna (I) (8091m). There are others at less than 8000m including Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (fishtail) (6993m), Gangapurna (7455m), Lamjung Himal (6830m), Barasikhar (6635m), Nilgiri (6670m), Tukuche Peak (7650m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and many other peaks slowly begin to appear, like magic, before our eyes.
This trek can also start from Dhampus Phedi, going in the opposite direction and it can also start from the natural hot springs at Beni. It is an area of spectacular mountain scenery, trekking through charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs, Dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep subtropical valleys can be enjoyed by every lover of nature within this beautiful landscape. The Ghorepani Poon Hill circuit trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world, where you can enjoy beautiful mountain views and learn the cultures of the people living in the Annapurna region. It is possible to customise short and long trekking itineraries to customer’s demands, so it will be easy to arrange. For those who only have a short holiday, you can go via Nayapul and return via the same route and for those who have a longer holiday, you can trek the Ghorepani circuit, taking in Poon Hill and continue trek to the Gurung village of Ghandruk. The trek ends in Dhampus Phedi and we will then drive to Pokhara and then drive or fly back to Kathmandu. We recommend the Ghorepani circuit trek because you will see the best panoramic views, the Gurung culture and you will not need to return via the same route.
