The lower dolpo trekking has opened to trekking in 1989 and it is hard to match for its pristine beauty and rugged charm you can still have the opportunity to meet the nomadic people and their life style is almost untouched and unexplored. The Himalayas offer an endless variety of landscapes, cultures and great people. This unbounded diversity makes it a destination you can visit over and over again. It even becomes more interesting and fascinating with every time you return. The dolpo trek start from Kathmandu to Nepalganj by flight then NepalGanj to Juphal by flight then arrive the dolpo trekking region. Upper Dolpo trekking is much beautiful and cultural and religious trek where unbelievable lifestyle and their cultures. It is historical places and their typical life style and charm landscapes. It is much attractive for dolpo trek and she phoksundo lake is biggest lake and great lake where is spend couple of night to explore their local people life style. The trek will end same Juphal then fly back or long days walking then join in Annapurna part of Jomsom.

Lower and upper dolpo is lying in the rain shadow area of the Himalayas, the landscape resembles that of the Tibetan Plateau instead of the lush, green, monsoon watered hills that is elsewhere in Nepal, at comparative altitudes. The people are very pleasant by nature and are of Tibetan descent that follows the pre-Buddhist Bon religion. Their language is closely related to Tibetan. The elevation of the trails is from 1650 meters to 5880 meters above sea level.

 Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and a representative of Unique Nepal Adventure Trek will welcome and transfer you to your selected hotel by private vehicle.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley by private vehicle with an expert tour guide.

  • Kathmandu Durbar Square
  • Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple)
  • Boudhanath Stupa (Large white Buddhist Stupa)
  • Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple)
  • Patan Durbar Square (Ancient city)
  • Bhaktapur Durbar Square (55-window palace)

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (152m) 1 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 4: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla and trek to Ghoti Chaur (2700m) 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 5: Ghoti Chaur – Naphukana (3000m) 6 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 6: Naphukona – Chaurikot (3000m) 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 7: Chaurikot – Toijem (4410m) 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 8: Toijem – Garpung Khola (4500m) 5 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 9: Garpung Khola to Lasa (5458m) 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 10: Lasa to Kagmara peak (5880m). Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 11: Trek to Kagmara La (5115m) 6 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 12: Pungmo (3050m) 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 13: Pungmo – Phoksundo Lake (3600m) 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 14: Phoksundo Lake 5 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 15: Phoksundo Lake – Baga La (5090m) 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 16: Baga La – Num La Pass Base Camp (5190m) 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 17: Num La Pass Base Camp – Dho Tarap 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 18: Dho Tarap 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 19: Cave Camp 6 hrs.  Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 20: To Lahini 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 21: Lahini – Tarakot (2400m) 6 hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 22: Tarakot – Dunai (2150m) 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 23: Dunai – Juphal 5 ½ hrs. Stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 24: Fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj for a connecting flight to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at your selected hotel.

Day 25: Souvenir and sightseeing in Kathmandu.

Day 26: A representative ofUnique Nepal Adventure Trek will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport by private vehicle.

Price Includes:

  • Airport pick-up and drop off by private vehicle.
  • Four nights in your selected Kathmandu hotel with breakfast.
  • A full day’s sightseeing in Kathmandu by private vehicle.
  • All meals during the trek (lunch, dinner, breakfast and tea or coffee).
  • Accommodation in a few simple lodges, but mainly camping in twin shared tents with mattress.
