The trek can return the same way back to Besisahar or continually can ahead over the Thorung La pass and end in Jomsom. We can either fly to Pokhara from Jomsom or trek can ahead continue till Nayapul and then return to Pokhara by vehicle. We need a special permit due to Nar phu valley is restricted area  and it has been recognized very lately. It is one of the hidden valley and hidden culture as well as high passes challenging trek of Kangla pass (5200m) and Thorung La pass (5416 m), it will give so much enjoyment and adventure as well as typical local lifestyle and their cultures in this trek. Hidden by swirls of mountain mist ahead of us, from Kangla pass at 5200m the magnificent panorama view of Annapurna massif appears remote and forbidding. Our destination is the Nar Phu valley, above the tree line on the upper limits of cultivation in the very north of Manang district. It takes five hours reaching the pass that links Nar with Manang and three other Bhotia villages in the Nyershang down the valley.

nar Phu village TrekNowadays, Nar Phu Valley Trekk has about 300 inhabitants who depend on livestock, unlike most Bhotia people, whose trading patterns changed drastically after the Nepali Government closed borders with Tibet, the people of Nar and Phu valley were least affected by this change. The tortuous path leading from the valley into Tibet had never made them dependent on the salt trade, and till today, yak herding is the basis of their livelihood. The Nar Phu valley trekking is along the Annapurna circuit trekking trail even after cross the Kang La Pass 5200m if continue to Annapurna circuit cross the another high pass Thorong La Pass 5416 m or Tilicho lake highest lake 4950m cross Mesokanto la pass. Then trek will head Jomsom Muktinath trekking via and end in Ghorepani Poon Hill via to Pokhara.

How to get Nar Phu Valley trekking? Nar Phu valley trekking is situated in Annapurna circuit trekking part. The trek can start along the Annapurna circuit trekking trail first Kathmandu to Besisahar by private or local vehicle then trek can start or directly can drive to Chame then can start Nar Phu valley trekking. Chame Koto village is main starting gate of Nar phu valley trekking then will be a week visit there then cross the Kangla Pass then join in Manang village then trek can continue to high pass Thorong La or can return to down same way end in Besisahar then back to Kathmandu. If continue trek high pass trek will end near the Pokhara.

They have lots yaks & sheep’s. The region people are Buddhist, they speak their own languages, and they have typical dress up thick cloths made by yak & sheep wool. They have nice community, they help each other, they have own local culture as dance, songs and special occasion they have fun as singing, dancing and eating nice food. They do cultivate but high area difficulty to grown enough.  That area People looks like different means they take shower few time a year due to always cool weather.

Day 14: Trek to Yak Kharka (4100m) approximate time (5-6 hrs) stay overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Trek to Thorung Phedi (4441 m) stay overnight at lodge.

Day 16: Trek to Muktinath after an early morning start. From Thorung Phedi to High Camp it is about an hour’s ascent. High Camp is (4850m) and then head over the Thorung La (5416 m) followed by a descent to Muktinath (3800m) stay overnight at lodge.

Day 17: Muktinath to Tatopani (hot spring) by drive (7 hrs) stay overnight at beautiful hot bath area.

day 18: Drive back to Pokhara takes time (5/6 hrs) stay overnight at nice Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 19: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus (6-7 hrs) (202 km) or by flight (45 mins) and stay overnight at your selected hotel in Kathmandu.
