Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1345 m) and transfer to Hotel.
Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.
Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800 m) & Trek to Phakding (2640 m)
We will take a flight to Lukla. After that, we will begin a short hike towards Phakding by following a gradually rising trail that ascends through the left bed of Dudh Koshi River. Along the route we can explore several Mani Walls and fluttering prayers flags. Finally arrive at Phakding for overnight stay.
Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)
We start our day by crossing a small suspension bridge then continue our gradual ascend through terraced hill site until reaching Bengar. A mixed combination of numerous numbers of ascends and descends will lead us at charming village settlement of Monjo where we have to get entry permit of Sagarmatha National Park before continuing the trek. We again continue our trail mostly uphill through forests of pine, paddy fields as well as mesmerizing view of Mt. Everest and Lhotse to reach at Namche Bazaar.
Day 04: A day for rest at Namche Bazaar – for acclimatization.
We will take a rest day at Namche Bazaar. We can explore the local market, visit museum and interact with local people. We can hike up to Khumjung monastery or towards Syangboche view point at 3800m altitude from where we can have an outstanding view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Kangaru and other snowcapped peaks.
Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3867 m)
We head towards Tyangboche monastery which is our main attraction place for the Mani Rimdu Festival Trek. We continue our journey followed by a continuous long climb all the way to Tyangboche. To the right there is a steep cliff that drops down to the Dudh Koshi. As we ascend through the forests. we can explore harsh alpine valley surrounded by tantalizing views of snow-capped mountains. Our journey continues until we reach the stone decorated massive gate built by locals which represents our entry into Tyangboche.
Day 06, 07 & 08: Observe Mani Rimdu Festival at Tyangboche Monastery
At Tyangboche we get to participate and observe the most important festival of Sherpa people Mani Rimdu. Monks, decorated with special wears are involved in ceremonial and meditation activities. The word Mani means a chant and Rimdu means red pills use to bless during the festival time. All monks pray together with mysterious Tantra – Mantras and distribute the blessed red pills to all who attended. The festival also includes sixteen different dances with interludes for comical effect including the very popular mask dance performed by monks. During the entire festival time we can get lot knowledge about Tibetan Buddhism tradition.
Day 09: Trek from Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)
After breakfast, we continue our trek as we leave Tyangboche behind and trek towards Namche Bazaar. The walk from Tyangboche is mostly downhill on the main trail of Everest Base Camp Trek with a few steep climbs for an hour from the bridge at Phungetenga.
Day 10: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2800 m)
The last day of our trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla.
Day 11: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu [45Min flight]
We take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. After landing at Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel.
Day 12: International Departure as per your fly schedule
Our airport representative will drop you off at the International Airport.
